Pining in Prickly Pear Patch at The Broadwater
The play opens by whisking the audience straight into a lively Old West town, complete with colorful characters, big personalities, and a playful sense of adventure. As someone who doesn’t often encounter family-friendly productions at Fringe, I appreciated the show’s commitment to creating an experience that audiences of all ages can enjoy.
At times, it feels almost like a live sitcom, with exaggerated reactions and playful theatrical devices that lean into the show’s campy charm. The frequent fourth-wall breaks and audience interaction keep the energy high and ensure everyone feels included in the fun.
Nun Slut
A comedy/clown show that blew me away! One of the few shows that will make you laugh till it hurts. Fearless comedic performance from Claire Robin. Nudity involved, so adults only. She takes increasingly high risks and nails them each time. I mean this as a compliment, but Claire is the Mr. Bean of Fringe Festival. Claire’s absurd playfulness with her different characters reminds me what I love about theater.
Confessions of A Pregnant Stripper at Actors Company
Confessions of a Pregnant Stripper is one of those Fringe shows that immediately grabs your attention with its title and then surprises you with the depth of its heart. Megan “Reagan” is a charismatic storyteller who effortlessly blends comedy, vulnerability, and sharp observations into a deeply personal journey. Reagan has a remarkable ability to make an audience laugh one moment and reflect the next. A show that makes you laugh and think at the same time, I could not believe my eyes how she powered through,
Lustily Ever After: The Musical at The Broadwater
One of my top ten! An original musical that shows off the true originality you can bring to the Fringe Festival. The play follows a romance book club and their adventures into different novels, and how they intertwine with their personal lives. Well-written characters with hilarious performances! Excellent chemistry between actors. Audience laughing non-stop! A Fringe show that feels ready for a professional run!
